🦌 LOVE IS IN THE AIR… AND DEER ARE ON THE MOVE! 🚗⚠️

It’s deer mating season in New Jersey, and love-struck deer aren’t paying attention to traffic!

From mid-October through mid-December, deer activity increases, especially around dawn and dusk. The East Brunswick Police Department reminds motorists to stay alert and drive cautiously.

🚨 DRIVING SAFETY TIPS:

🦌 Slow Down: Be cautious near wooded areas and deer crossing signs.

🌅 Stay Alert: Deer are most active at dawn and dusk.

👀 Watch for More: Where there’s one deer, others may follow.

💡 Use High Beams: When safe and appropriate.

🚗 Don’t Swerve: Brake firmly and maintain control.

📵 Avoid Distractions: Keep your eyes on the road.

Remember, deer don’t use crosswalks or look both ways before crossing!

Stay alert, slow down, and give wildlife plenty of room. 🦌

Today, members of the East Brunswick Police Department traveled to Philadelphia to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in law enforcement as we pay our final respects to Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on October 10, 2026.

Officer Seiber was a 10-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department and a United States Air Force combat veteran who dedicated his life to serving and protecting others, both at home and abroad.

Our officers are honored to join law enforcement personnel from across the region in paying tribute to his life, service, and ultimate sacrifice.

We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Seiber’s family, friends, and fellow officers of the Philadelphia Police Department. May they find strength and comfort in knowing that his sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Officer Seiber. We have the watch from here.

The East Brunswick Police Department is proud to announce that its Public Safety Emergency Communications Center has achieved accreditation through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Accreditation Program. The Board of Commissioners of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission approved the accreditation on October 8, 2026.

This voluntary accreditation recognizes public safety communications centers that meet established professional standards in policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services. The process included a comprehensive self-assessment followed by an independent on-site evaluation. Assessors reviewed documentation, examined operations and facilities, and interviewed personnel to verify compliance with applicable standards.

Communications Supervisor and Accreditation Manager Frank Bottiglieri led the Center’s accreditation efforts, working with the emergency communications staff to document compliance and prepare for the assessment.

“This achievement reflects the leadership and dedication of Communications Supervisor Frank Bottiglieri and the professionalism of our dispatchers,” said Chief Frank LoSacco. “Frank guided our communications center through a demanding accreditation process, and our dispatchers bring those standards to life every day. They are often the first voice someone hears during an emergency, providing calm guidance while coordinating the response. I am proud of their work and their commitment to the people of East Brunswick.”

PSAP accreditation provides independent assurance that the Center meets recognized standards for answering emergency calls, coordinating police, fire, and emergency medical services, and supporting public safety operations.

The East Brunswick Police Department remains committed to maintaining these standards through ongoing review, training, and continuous improvement.

🚌 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗕𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 🛑

During National School Bus Safety Week, the East Brunswick Police Department reminds motorists, parents, and students that keeping children safe around school buses is everyone’s responsibility.

While school buses are among the safest ways for children to travel, getting on and off the bus can be the most dangerous part of their trip.

🚗 Motorists:

* 🟡 Flashing yellow lights: Slow down and prepare to stop.
* 🔴 Flashing red lights and extended stop-arm: STOP! Never attempt to pass a stopped school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop-arm is extended.
* 👀 Stay alert, avoid distractions, and watch for children near bus stops.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents and Students:

* Arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes early.
* Stay at least 10 feet away from the road while waiting.
* Wait for the bus driver’s signal before boarding.
* Always cross in front of the bus, never behind it, and make sure the driver can see you.

⚠️ Remember: A few seconds of impatience can have lifelong consequences. Slow down, stay alert, and help keep our children safe.

In recognition of National Teen Driver Safety Week, the East Brunswick Police Department is reminding teen drivers and their families about the importance of making safe, responsible decisions behind the wheel.

Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for teens ages 15–18 in the United States. Developing safe driving habits early can help prevent tragedies and save lives.

Remember these important rules of the road:

🚫 Never Drive Impaired: Alcohol, drugs, and certain medications can impair your ability to drive safely.

✅ Buckle Up: Every passenger, every seat, every trip.

📱 Avoid Distractions: Put your phone away and keep your attention on the road.

🚘 Obey Speed Limits: Speeding reduces your ability to react to unexpected hazards.

👥 Limit Passengers: Additional passengers can increase distractions and the risk of a serious crash.

Parents and guardians: Take time to discuss safe driving habits with your teen. Your guidance and example can make a lasting difference.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Coffee with a Cop event on Saturday at the Colonial Diner!

It was great seeing so many members of our community take time out of their weekend to share a cup of coffee, enjoy some conversation, and get to know the officers who serve East Brunswick.

Events like these remind us that building strong relationships starts with something as simple as sitting down, having a conversation, and getting to know one another. No speeches, no agenda, just good coffee and great company!

🐾 LOST DOG – PLEASE SHARE 🐾

A dog has been found in the area of Milltown Road.

If you are the owner, please contact the East Brunswick Police Department at 732-390-6960 or 732-390-6900 for information on how to reclaim your pet.

The dog will be transported to the Woodbridge Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center (195 Woodbridge Avenue, Sewaren, NJ) for safekeeping.
