October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and firefighters all over North America have been finding ways to advocate for early detection, education, and patient support. Statistics show that approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, meaning it's likely that breast cancer has affected at least one of your friends or family members. Current and retired East Moline FD personnel are no exception, and we have been wearing a t-shirt to express that. The shirt we are wearing this year was designed by a current member of EMFD, Firefighter Olson.
