Work with my student group to secure fi****ms on school grounds continues.
Today, Sen. Cwodzinski successfully moved its companion bill out of the MN Senate Education Policy committee on a 7-4 vote. It passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday.
One step at a time in the right direction.
Edina students help draft gun safety bills at the Capitol When Rep. Julie Greene (DFL-Edina) reached out to the Edina Legislative Action Committee for student voices on a gun safe storage bill, Aditi Jha was eager to lend a hand.

People were not free during Operation Metro Surge.
Minnesotans were illegally profiled and detained, were unable to work or leave their homes, and the least we could do is support them with some reallocated dollars to keep a roof over their heads.
There are thousands of stories. And I believe them. The economic disaster from ICE is still ongoing, and we need to do what we can.
I just voted for emergency Rental Assistance for Minnesotans today. It failed 67-67 on the House floor because my colleagues across the aisle don't believe Minnesotans.

Opinion | Does our testimony about our daughter’s death even matter? Our daughter, Harper Moyski, was killed at Annunciation. But recounting our personal tragedy has done little so far to sway legislators who have already made up their minds on guns, the authors write.

In a 2025 poll, 67% of Minnesotans support an Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to our state's constitution.
Why? Because Minnesotans believe in protecting rights based on race, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity, and disability.
I love Minnesota. 💚

"There isn't a day where the threat of gun violence isn't on my mind. Every. Single. Day."
"Protect our students. Act now."
"School is for learning, not dying."
"We call on our legislators to act."
Minnesota teachers and students showed up at the Capitol today to demand change. We owe it to them to make it.

Special moment on the House floor today voting unanimously to name Minnesota's innovative Community Solar Garden program after Speaker Emeritus Melissa Hortman.
Representative Patty Acomb presented the bill with a beautiful testament to Speaker Hortman and the world-renowned work she did in bringing solar to Minnesota in 2013. 🌻
She is so very missed.

City business at the Capitol today!
✔️ Met with Bloomington MN City Government team to talk important Bonding requests (hello, infrastructure)
✔️ Dropped bill jackets to allow a social district in City of Edina, MN (Local Government) (economic boost for small business? Yes, please.)

Minnesota lawmakers, led by Minnetonka Rep. Patty Acomb, are proposing to name the state’s community solar garden program after former House Speaker Melissa Hortman, who created the program in 2013.
Story in comments.

“People will offer lip service,” Smeaton said. “They’ll say, ‘I’m going to vote no because I have genuine concerns about it, but I really feel for you.’ But the real test is to watch how they vote.”
Exactly.
