We are aware of claims on social media that a 1st Armored Division unit is not following the Secretary of War directive on voting. The Soldiers of Ready First are hard at work forward deployed in Europe and sharpening their warfighting skills at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany. Like every unit in the 1st Armored Division, 1st Brigade will comply with all Secretary of War directives. Brigade leadership will provide Soldiers a voting stand-down day as soon as possible following the completion of this major, pre-scheduled training event.

The mission continues. 🚁🇺🇸

Soldiers from the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, and the 29th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, Maryland National Guard, participated in a Transfer of Authority ceremony at Fort Bliss, Texas, Oct. 1, 2026. The ceremony marked the assumption of authority of Operation Ardent Vanguard by the 29th ECAB from the 1st AD CAB.

As one unit passed the guidon and another accepted the mission, both formations demonstrated the professionalism, readiness and commitment that keep Army Aviation mission-ready.

Surrounded by family and fellow professionals, Sgt. Alexandria Vereen-Alaniz was recognized with the Col. Robert L.
