We have a tradition of excellence in El Segundo schools, through generations, and my goal is to continue that tradition as a member of the ESUSD board.

The Herald was kind enough to interview me so I could share my perspective on the school board race. Thanks for the opportunity.

If you were in Hermosa this morning you would have seen a bunch of people dressed up as Santa. No, it wasn't a joke, it was a fundraiser for Mychal's Learning. Great organization that offers programs for children with disabilities here in the South Bay. I'm happy to support!

Dear Friends,
The election has now been certified. The results of the race are indicative of how divided our town is. There are approximately 12,000 registered voters in El Segundo. This would indicate I received about 1/6 of the vote. While it wasn't enough to get a seat on the board, it does illustrate there is large group of families that aren't happy with the status quo. I'll continue to attend school board meetings and hope to see more of you join me. I'm not going away just yet.😎

Best to you all and thank you!

As we approach Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for all the El Segundo voters that supported me. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It is a great opportunity for us to reflect on our many blessings. I wish everyone a blessed week and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Dear friends and supporters,

More than a week has passed after elections, and we are still seeing ballots trickle in. Even though the count is not final, it seems that I won’t be joining the school board.

Who would have guessed that the school board race could turn so hateful and vindictive. As El Segundo stands against hate, a short time ago I was mischaracterized, misquoted and called nasty names on social media. But good and truth will always prevail over ugliness and vitriol. The wonderful support I received from the community was far more important.

Regardless of how this plays out, I still remain committed to supporting students and parents. As I’ve said before, parents should be heard and involved in their child’s education. Sadly some stakeholders feel differently.

In the meantime I am attaching a video that you may find interesting. All the best to you.

Beautiful sunny day after the rain in our small town. Love the bright blue sky and the crispness in the air. Lots of good reasons to remain hopeful!

Yadranka Draskovic for ESUSD 2022 - Mom And Former Teacher 11/04/2022

Here's a podcast interview I did with Tom Smith of Liberty Chronicle, discussing my campaign for school board, and some of the issues parents are concerned about at ESUSD:

Beautiful morning for a walk by the beach. Skechers Friendship Walk today had a great turn out. So many other families out there to support friendship and kindness. A positive message for us all.

In my goal to build on our legacy of excellence in education, here is my vision for continuity and progress at ESUSD:

1. Boost falling test scores in Math and Reading by focusing on academics in the classroom.

2. Work on getting drugs out of our high school: Lets work with the community to keep our kids healthy and safe.

3. We need to maintain long term staff in all the schools and in special ed. Having a new principal each year in the high school is far from ideal. Let's work to ensure that faculty and staff will stay with the district, creating a more consistent environment for our students.

4. Make parents feel like they are not only included in their child's education, but also validated. We keep our community strong by having a positive relationship with all stakeholders.

5. Use the lawsuit that resulted from school bullying to learn about what we can do better here at ESUSD, so that we can avoid future incidents.
