Nearly three years ago, I had the opportunity to attend GrowErie’s groundbreaking ceremony at Joyce A. Savocchio Opportunity Park, marking the beginning of an exciting vision that has now become reality.
Today, it was an honor to stand alongside community partners as Second Harvest Food Bank and GrowErie announced a new partnership that will expand food access and strengthen support for families across Erie.
This collaboration reflects the values that continue to move our city forward: equity, revitalization, and economic development. Grateful to everyone whose hard work, investment, and commitment helped bring this vision to life.

Workforce and economic development remain at the heart of my priorities because when we invest in people, ideas, and opportunity, Erie moves forward.
Today, my staff and I had the opportunity to attend two exciting ribbon cuttings. While each represents a very different industry, both help create opportunity, innovation, and strengthen the diverse economy we are building together.
Congratulations to Mercyhurst University’s Studio 26 Venture Studio and Studio Surrender on your grand openings! Grateful for your unique visions and the ways you each showcase the creativity and strength of our local economy.

Last week, I had the opportunity to stop in at the Bowie Apartments, where local artists are hard at work creating a 72-foot-high mural made up of 60 panels that will be installed on the building’s exterior.
Public art is essential to our community, bringing life and meaning to spaces that might otherwise feel blank or underutilized. Erie’s creative community is truly incredible, and this project is a powerful example of that talent in action. Thank you to all the artists helping bring this vision to life!
I encourage anyone interested to stop down and take part. Community Painting Days are happening now through June 7:
👉 Fridays 5:00 - 8:00 PM
👉 Saturdays 12:00 - 3:00 PM and 5:00 - 8:00 PM

This month, we proudly celebrate and honor the LGBTQIA+ community and their many contributions to our city, while recognizing that building a truly inclusive community is ongoing work. We remain committed to listening, learning from one another, and continuing to ensure Erie is a place where everyone can live openly, safely, and thrive.

Our City is a beautiful mosaic made up of residents from many different backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities, each adding to the story of Erie in meaningful ways.
During Jewish American Heritage Month, we recognize and celebrate the many Jewish Americans who have helped shape our city’s history and continued growth. Their contributions reach well beyond the month of May and play an important part of Erie's progress.

Grateful to ABATE of PA - Erie County Chapter and the entire motorcycle community for the opportunity to take part in their annual Harley’s & Hot Rods Cruise-In and Jeremy Grant awareness ride, where I had the honor of presenting a proclamation recognizing Motorcycle Awareness Month.
May serves as an important reminder for all of us to stay alert, share the road, and look out for one another all year. Whether on two wheels or four, road safety is a number one priority.
