The Evansville Fire Department is still on the scene of a structure fire in the 1800 block of Stinson Avenue this morning.

Just before 6 A.M., EFD was dispatched after a resident reported their home was on fire. A second caller also reported the residence was in flames. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from the back of the house. Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.

All occupants were able to exit the home prior to firefighters' arrival, however, four adults and five children were displaced and the American Red Cross was called to assist.

Firefighters also rescued two dogs, three ferrets, snake, and two cats from the home. One cat required vital medical aid and was successfully revived on scene. One civilian sustained injuries. No firefighter injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Please continue to avoid the area.

Always SO fun!! Until next year 😎

Every good softball game needs a solid pair of MCs, and these two kept things moving all day. Great commentary, questionable play-by-play, and just enough trash talk to keep everyone entertained.

And we have to give some credit to our Evansville Fraternal Order of Police #73 MC for showing up with the killer tattoos and looking like he was equally prepared to call the game or start a biker gang after it.

Thanks to both of them for keeping the crowd laughing and making Slugfest even more fun.
