A Canadian man built his own DIY version of a Flock Safety surveillance camera, but instead of scanning every passing vehicle, his AI-powered system was designed to identify and track police vehicles. The cops showed up at his door upset that he created such a surveillance system.

Anthony Sistilli, a Canadian software engineer and YouTuber, used a commercially available camera, a laptop, and AI-assisted software to build a prototype that could identify police cars, read their license plates, and log details such as the time and location.

Sistilli said he developed the initial software in roughly 20 minutes. Although the prototype had limitations and sometimes missed vehicles or failed to read plates, it demonstrated how accessible automated license plate recognition technology has become.

According to Sistilli, officers expressed concerns that a database tracking police vehicles could reveal officers’ movements, routines, and potentially sensitive information about their whereabouts.

Police officers considered how continuous location tracking might affect their own privacy and safety, yet often done consider this concern that ordinary citizens have been expressing about surveillance technology for years.

As we've often stated, it's best to work on building a society where more surveillance and security is NOT needed because safety is being created at its core. Much of the system design we have today breeds crime and social issues; then we create more authoritarianism to solve the problems we create.

The town of Mexico, NY announced Tuesday it would change its name to Epstein List to avoid being targeted by President Donald Trump’s reported push to rename New Mexico to New America.

“We figured if we changed our name to something he absolutely doesn’t want to talk about, we might fly under the radar,” said town supervisor Mark Henderson.
