🔥 Wildfire Update – Pineland Rd Fire

A wildfire that began Saturday, April 18 on private timberland in Clinch County has grown to approximately 6,960 acres and is currently 10% contained. Ongoing drought and challenging fire weather conditions are contributing to increased fire activity and spread.

We are grateful for the critical air support provided over the weekend by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Georgia State Patrol, helping crews respond as quickly and safely as possible.

The Georgia Forestry Commission is establishing an Incident Management Team to support this fire and others in the area. The team is expected to be fully active tomorrow (4/21).

⚠️ Public Safety Reminder:
• Avoid the area to allow emergency crews to operate safely
• Follow all instructions from local officials
• Be alert for possible road closures and smoke impacts

We will continue to provide updates as conditions change.

Fighting fire. Protecting forests. Serving Georgia.
