Last week, Our AUX crew conducted joint training with the Gold Side. Boat handling during securing a tow with a skiff hook is key. During a routine USCG AUX patrol last week, we came upon a fouled fender with 25’ of submerged attached line drifting in the ICW channel along the approach for Fernandina Harbor’s docks. What looked like a single fender drifting in the channel could have created a terrible day for a boater with a fouled prop. Always keep a sharp lookout! 👀 USCG Auxiliary Southeast District

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at the St Marys Seafood Festival yesterday! It was a great day at the festival as the weather held. One of the festival visitors is interested in joining the USCG Auxiliary, so Flotilla 14-1 may gain a new member! Kids were able to earn safety whistles by learning to tie a few knots. ,

Yesterday, Flotilla 14-1 gained another Coxswain after a successful QE mission. We finished the patrol with our new Coxswain and his mentoring Coxswain hitting the deck with 22 pushups for awareness to the 22 Veterans that commit su***de daily in observance of Su***de Prevention month. Our Gold Side shipmates from Station Mayport inspired us on deck with their 22 pushups underway. Don’t forget to check on one another.
