The only scary thing about Halloween should be your costume!

If you're heading out to celebrate, make a plan to get home safely. Never get behind the wheel impaired, and never let a friend drive impaired.

📱 Make the Call for a sober ride. A safe ride home is always worth it!

Don’t turn a happy milestone into a lifelong regret. A DUI or DWAI conviction is permanent and visible on background checks indefinitely. This can impact employment, professional certifications, and housing.

John Goodman woke up one Sunday shaking and still wanting to drink.

The actor, who had even been drinking on the set of "Roseanne," realized that morning that he couldn’t go on alone. He called his wife, Anna Beth, and "surrendered" himself to her, according to the press. She didn’t ask too many questions: she contacted rehab centers and helped him get into one, around 2008.

Their story began much earlier, at a Halloween party in New Orleans, while he was filming "Everybody's All-American." She was a 19-year-old fine arts student; he was a rising star. They married in 1989, and their daughter Molly was born a year later.

Goodman has now been sober for years and says it was his wife who pulled him back from the brink. He has even joked that she "thought he was a zombie" when she saw him like that.

How many love stories can withstand a fall like that?

The costumes should be scary, not the drive home.
Halloween means parties and costumes – and more pedestrians and more impaired drivers on the road.
If you’re drinking or using cannabis, don’t drive. Plan your sober ride before the night begins, and make sure your friends get home safely, too.
