Next Art Show Opening, curated by Heidi Kneisl, at the Falcon is this Saturday, 10/3/26. The theme for this show, that celebrates the anniversary of The Falcon Bar in Thornton Park is, ‘The Shining’.

My piece, ‘The Shining Horse: 2026: Year of the Horse: A Mann Brothers Blacklight Paint Color Chart’ is a bit off-theme, I will admit, but it gave me the excuse I needed to break away from my other work to test out some new and exciting paints: Mann Brothers blacklight paints. The paints performed very well, on par with the industry standard paint which has been recently discontinued. I painted this piece on a 1970’s needlepoint chicken that used to hand in my house growing up. I primed the entire thing, frame, mat, needlepoint chicken and all with Axalta Corlar 2.1 ST epoxy primer. Then I based it with Mann Brothers (MB) Color Themes Carbon Black. Then I worked it up from there with a combination of MB Color Themes paints and Mann Brothers Blacklight paints. Each color in the palette has it’s own distinct section of mane, based in MB High Hide White to give it a nice base for ultimate luminosity and vibrancy. Those portions were brushed, straight out of the container to represent those colors full strength.

This is my first time participating in a show at Drunken Monkey, 444 North Bumby Ave, Milk District, Orlando. The opening for, “Monkeys & Coffee” , curated by Heidi Kniesl, is this Tuesday, 8/11 at 6PM. My piece is inspired by a painting by my friend Kelly Plummer, a diver in a coffee mug, that has hung in our kitchen for many years.

‘Chimp Java’ is 8 inches by 8 inches, acrylics on canvas.

This month’s art show at the Falcon, curated by Heidi Kneisl is, ‘Nomz’. My piece is inspired by a painting by my friend Kelly Plummer, a diver in a coffee mug, that has hung in our kitchen for many years. Capuchin monkey diver in a coffee mug is 8 inches by 8 inches, acrylics on canvas.

Aleister Crowley, English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, novelist, mountaineer and painter, owned Boleskine House on the shore of Loch Ness in Scotland. Gwazi, an ultra mel okeetee corn snake owned by Kirsten’s friend Caroline, is featured as the Loch Ness monster.

My latest piece, ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ Snake will be in the ‘Recycled Art Show’ curated by Heidi Kneisl, at The Falcon Bar, 819 E. Washington Street, Orlando which opens tonight at 8PM!

Dimensions: 13 inch diameter with 3 inch depth bas-relief elements

Medium: acrylic paint and sharpie applied to recycled, repurposed cardboard and packaging materials, reused plastic Target bag ‘snakeskin’, recycled wire and colored embroidery thread tongue.
