🎉 **CONGRATULATIONS, ASHLEY & CASLYNNE!** 🎉
Please help us congratulate **Ashley and Caslynne** on successfully completing their training and lateral transfer process with the Morgan County Communications Center!
Coming into a new communications center as an experienced dispatcher brings its own challenges. While both Ashley and Caslynne came to us with previous experience, they still had to learn an entirely new agency, new policies and procedures, new technology, new radio operations, new geography, and the specific expectations of serving Morgan County.
Throughout their training, they both **rigorously studied, pushed themselves, asked questions, accepted feedback, and put in the work necessary to become successful members of our team.**
Their training included:
📞 **Emergency Call Processing** – learning Morgan County procedures while continuing to provide calm, professional assistance to people during some of their most difficult moments.
📡 **Radio Operations & Resource Coordination** – learning our law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies, radio channels, response procedures, and the unique needs of each agency we serve.
🗺️ **Morgan County Geography** – developing a strong working knowledge of our communities, highways, rural roads, landmarks, response areas, and neighboring jurisdictions.
💻 **Computer-Aided Dispatch & Technology** – becoming proficient with our CAD system, communications equipment, databases, and the many systems used simultaneously during emergency operations.
🤝 **Agency Procedures & Team Integration** – adapting previous experience to a new organization, learning how our center operates, and becoming part of the Morgan County Communications team.
A lateral transfer does not mean simply walking in and taking a console. It requires taking the experience and knowledge you already have, setting aside old habits when necessary, learning a completely new operation, and proving that you can successfully perform within that system.
We are extremely proud of the effort they have put into this process. They challenged themselves, worked hard, and demonstrated their commitment to becoming strong members of the Morgan County Communications Center.
👏 Congratulations, Ashley and Caslynne! 👏
Your hard work has paid off, and we are grateful to have both of you serving Morgan County and working alongside our public safety partners.
