Urban Village Family Services

has been a project we’ve been developing since 2019 and a project that and means so much to us for a number of reasons‼️with the support and community partnership with and and came together officially in 2024

🌱Reason 1: Our Founder, David Howard and owner of .inc has a real passion for land, landscaping and growing whatever he can get his hands on 🙌🏾

🌱Reason 2: Food insecurity in America and extremely poor——Food insecurity in Fort Worth, Texas, is critical, with over 337,000 residents in Tarrant County (roughly 1 in 7 people) facing hunger daily as of 2025. 😞

🌱Reason 3: This project is one of many Legacy Projects, Mr. Howard has developed in his core values of generational wealth and supporting his eldest daughter Jocelyn Howard of who is also a partner and consultant to the project. 🫶🏾

🌱Reason 4: This project is designed to bring community together in an organic manner, teaching garden basics and urban farming for those interested. We also we be providing garden-to-plate demos🫑🥬🥒 and hosting outdoor events and activities.

Are you ready for GivingTuesday (Dec. 3) and the year-end holiday giving season?

🧸Our community of practice partnerships missions are to cultivate a healthier, stronger and more self-reliant community by increasing access to fresh produce, building cooperative growing spaces and providing education about how to grow and prepare fresh produce.

🥒Our Farmers Market/community pantry will provide workshops, a learning space and a safe place to just be. We will provide monthly plant based food demonstrations and healthy eating classes provided by our local partners, garden cultivation, movement and natural exploration in a safe green environment.

Our impact so far, included the following:
🍳Health/Nutrition Education through hands-on cooking
🥣food handlers safety
🍓Community gardens that increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables
🤓volunteer opportunities
🫶🏾Healthy lifestyle programs that teach prevention and care of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity
😷Hygiene classes
♿️Supplemental food programs for vulnerable populations like aging adults, those with developmental disabilities and the unhoused
♨️food banks/programs, produce packs offered and we are certified to accept SNAP benfits
