A severe weather emergency refers to any weather condition that poses a threat to life or property on campus. This is typically associated with tornadoes or severe thunderstorms. In the event of potential severe weather, Campus Police will monitor the situation closely. If necessary, they will unlock the buildings that contain Tornado Shelters—specifically, Memorial Building, Naylor Student Center, Cowden Hall, and the RAC—to provide you with a safe place to seek shelter.

Please note that Campus Police will only issue RAVE notifications for a Tornado Watch or Tornado Warning if the Seminary is located within the area affected by severe weather.

If you need to use a tornado shelter, please remain in place until you receive an all-clear message via RAVE notification or from the National Weather Service (NWS).

- **Tornado Watch:** Conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop.
- **Tornado Warning:** A tornado is either occurring or has been spotted by radar. Seek shelter immediately!
