School may be out for the 2025-26 school year, but we are still celebrating 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 in Crowley ISD! We’re excited to introduce 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘀! 👏
Batts is the principal’s secretary at Oakmont Elementary School where she has worked since September 2024.
“She is a constant source of care, support and positivity for everyone on campus,” the colleague who nominated her said. “She consistently goes beyond the call of duty, making sure students and staff have what they need, whether that’s supplies, guidance or simply a reassuring presence … 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗮𝗸𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹.”
Principal Cabrea Bundy called Batts the heartbeat of campus operations.
“No task is ever too big or too small for her, and she handles each responsibility with excellence and grace,” Bundy said. “What I appreciate most about Ms. Batts is her consistency, loyalty and heart for people. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.”
She anticipates needs before they arise, supports staff without hesitation and remains dependable even during the busiest and most challenging moments.
Bundy said Batts often works weekends, compiling campus information for weekly parent and staff newsletters and completing additional tasks behind the scenes, even though she is not expected to.
“That level of commitment cannot be taught; it comes from someone who truly loves and believes in the work they do,” she said. “Her positive attitude, problem solving mindset and dedication make her an invaluable part of our campus family.”
Batts said she loves being able to build meaningful connections with students, staff, families and the community.
“𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿,” she said. “What motivates me most is taking care of people and helping create positive, memorable experiences for others. Whether it’s supporting a student, assisting a teacher or welcoming a family into our building, I enjoy being someone others can rely on. Seeing people smile, feel appreciated or simply feel heard is what keeps me going each day.”
