Last week, we wrapped up an amazing summer here at the Southwest Community Center with a fun-filled kickball game! ⚽️ Everyone brought their A-game, and it was the perfect way to celebrate all the memories we’ve made over the past few weeks.

We also took the time to recognize and celebrate our RLITs (Recreation Leaders in Training) with special awards for their hard work, leadership, and dedication throughout the summer. 👏 Their energy and commitment truly made this season unforgettable!

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our programs—we couldn’t have done it without you. Here’s to many more great seasons ahead! 💛

🎒📚 Back to School Drive – August 8th! 📚🎒

Join us at the Southwest Community Center for our Back to School Drive on Friday, August 8th, 2025 from 3PM – 5PM!

We’ll be giving away FREE school supplies for the children – just in time for the new school year! ✏️📓🖍️

🚗 Drive-thru only – please stay in your vehicles. Supplies will be handed out at the front of the center.

A special thank you to the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge for coming out and doing a presentation with our kids today! 🐍🐢

Last Thursday we took a few of our Southwest kids to an overnight trip at the Fort Worth Nature center. We went canoeing 🛶 ate some hot dogs and smores 🌭🔥 went on a late night hike 🥾🌗 and went fishing in the morning 🎣 we also met Dog, the baby gator 🐊

Overall it was a fun experience and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

💚 In honor of the lives impacted by the floods in Central Texas , our community center came together for a green ribbon photo. We stand in solidarity, sending love, strength, and healing to all those affected. 💚
