A couple of my colleagues on the school board and our great superintendent left Aledo at 5 a.m. this morning to drive down to Austin and meet with our state senators and representative to advocate for Aledo ISD. It’s an honor to support our public school teachers and staff working hard everyday to give their best to all the kids who enter the doors of our district.

Today, yes Sunday, is a great day to vote!

The Attendance Zone Committee is hard at work this evening, as they discuss and think through the demographics in order to make the best possible decisions for our Aledo students. Thank you to these community members for volunteering their time to make Aledo schools the best!

It was great to see and listen to community members on Monday and Tuesday night as the Aledo Growth Committee and Attendance Zone Committee worked through the growth demographics of our school district. So many are volunteering and working to make Aledo ISD the best it can be!

Aledo,

After being asked to do so, and after much thought and discussion with my wife Heather, I’m running for Aledo ISD Board of Trustee Place 2. Aledo has been a special place for my family, and I’ve enjoyed serving along with many of you in different roles over the last several years, including:

- Co-Chair of the Bearcat Growth Committee
- Deacon at Christ Chapel, West
- Board and Coach at Aledo Youth Football
- Baseball Coach at Aledo Athletics, Inc.
- Basketball Coach at Aledo Lions Club

I look forward to continue serving my community as a trustee on the school board and working with you to continue growing greatness in our schools.

I would appreciate your support and your vote on May 4th!

Thank you to Jennifer Loftin and her service on the Board of Trustees for the last nine years. I will strive to fill her shoes and make Aledo ISD the best school it can be.

Thanks,
Jim Scott
