Happy Catfish Friday! Channel Catfish are being stocked into all 5 DFW Neighborhood Fishin' Ponds this morning! Locations, numbers and approximate stocking times are listed below.
Construction/traffic may impact stocking times.
City Lake Park in Mesquite - 710 fish; ~10:20 AM
Lakeside Park in Duncanville - 426 fish; ~10:10 AM
Chisholm Park in Hurst - 426 fish; ~10:45 AM
Greenbriar Park in Fort Worth - 426 fish; ~10:30 AM
South Lakes Park in Denton - 540 fish; ~11:30 AM
The daily bag limit is 5 fish per person day, there is no minimum length limit on Channel Catfish, anglers may use no more than 2 poles at a time, and anglers 17 years and older must have a fishing license. To report violations, please contact Operation Game Thief at 1-800-792-4263.

We had a great time at Mayfest Fort Worth, Texas yesterday! The weather was great, the food was yummy, and the fish tales were incredible!

It’s the week of Lone Star Bass stockings! Yesterday, with the help of the staff from Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center - Texas Parks and Wildlife, we stocked ~160,000 Lone Star Bass fingerlings into Joe Pool Reservoir. The fish are being escorted by our esteemed hatchery staff from Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center - Texas Parks and Wildlife and Dundee Fish Hatchery - Texas Parks and Wildlife so traffic may impact stocking times.

Attention Neighborhood Fishin' anglers! The wait is nearly over! Channel Catfish stockings at the 5 DFW-area Neighborhood Fishin' sites will resume Friday, April 10, 2026. Stockings occur every other week after that until August, but resume again in September.

The numbers stocked at each site is based on the overall size of each waterbody and is as follows each stocking:
Chisholm Park in Hurst: 426 fish
Greenbriar Park in Fort Worth: 426 fish
Lakeside Park in Duncanville: 426 fish
City Lake Park in Mesquite: 710 fish
South Lakes Park (South pond) in Denton: 540 fish

To the best of our ability, approximate times will be published the day of stockings after hearing from hatchery staff.
