We are honored to be featured by the Fort Worth Report as they shared news of a recent $200,000 grant awarded to The WARM Place by the The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

The article highlights the growing need for grief support in the wake of last year's Central Texas floods and the heartbreaking losses experienced by so many families across our state. While this tragedy has brought renewed attention to the importance of children's grief support, the grant itself strengthens The WARM Place's mission of providing ongoing grief support services to all children and families in our community.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of this catastrophic event, our hearts remain with everyone impacted by the floods, and with all those navigating the difficult journey of grief. We are grateful for partners like the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country who invest in hope, healing, and support for grieving children and families.🧡

For families seeking grief support in their own communities, the National Alliance for Children's Grief (NACG) offers a searchable directory of grief support programs across the country at nacg.org.

We’re proud to share that The WARM Place Executive Director, Shelley Bettis, recently spoke at the 2026 TCU Nonprofit Communicators Conference alongside Beth Lamb, Executive Director of The Key School , and Kim Brown, Co-Founder of Story and Strategy PR.

Their session, “The Stories Between Us: How Nonprofits Collaborate to Advance Mission,” explored the power of partnership, storytelling, and connection in strengthening the work nonprofits do every day.

Thank you to TCU for hosting such a meaningful gathering of nonprofit leaders and communicators — and to everyone who joined the conversation!

We often say The WARM Place is made possible by our incredible volunteers — and that’s so true. But what’s equally powerful is the impact this work has on the volunteers themselves. Supporting grieving children and families creates connection, purpose, and growth for everyone involved. 🧡💙

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer facilitator like Natalie, Jeremy, and Irene, we’d love to have you join our Summer training - it starts A WEEK FROM TODAY! Reach out to [email protected] or give us a call at (817) 870 2272 to learn more!
