Blount County is officially Foster Friendly! 💙

We loved gathering with local leaders, businesses, faith communities, organizations, and foster families to kick off the work of building a community where families involved in foster care feel seen, supported, and surrounded.

Becoming Foster Friendly is about more than showing appreciation. It’s about creating practical, lasting support that helps foster, kinship, and adoptive families keep saying yes to the kids who need them.

We’re so grateful for everyone in Blount County who is stepping up to be part of this movement. This is just the beginning!

Open the Door. 🚪

At this year’s Middle Tennessee fundraiser, our community showed up in a big way for kids and families impacted by foster care across Tennessee!

Together, we celebrated the positive impact, partnerships, and individuals who have made belonging for children possible for the last TEN years, and looked ahead with so much hope for what we can continue to accomplish together.

We have seen tremendous growth of impact thanks to those who have chosen to link arms with Tennessee Kids Belong’s mission and team, but there is still work to be done.

Right now, there are nearly 8,000 children in foster care across Tennessee. For many, it begins with a knock in the middle of the night. Children are removed from complex, unimaginable situations - A door closes and everything changes.

Your generosity and support is what continues to help more foster families, businesses, faith communities, and local leaders be able to continue opening more doors for kids and families in need, and we would love your support to continue the work.

Meet Kailynn 💛

Kailynn loves spending time with friends, getting dressed up, doing her hair, nails, and makeup, and going new places. She’s part of choir at school and would love the chance to try soccer or join a dance team.

Once she feels comfortable, Kailynn’s outgoing personality shines. She would love a family with animals and would be excited to have siblings, too.

This summer, the I Belong Project® spent an unforgettable day with Nashville Soccer Club at GEODIS Park, creating space for kids in foster care to simply be themselves, have fun, and share a little of who they are with families.

For each child, the heart of an I Belong Project day is the same: to create a photo and video profile that goes beyond the facts on a page. Through conversations, portraits, and plenty of candid moments, we get to capture the personalities, interests, talents, hopes, and dreams that make each child uniquely them.

This summer, the I Belong Project® spent a day at GEODIS Park creating space for kids in foster care to have fun, be themselves, and share a little of who they are.

Through photos, videos, conversations, and plenty of unforgettable moments, we had the privilege of capturing their personalities, interests, hopes, and dreams. Because every child deserves the opportunity to be known for so much more than the facts on a page.
