A poll published by Communities for Affordable Power found that 77% of Virginia voters oppose the $67 billion merger proposal by Florida-based NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy.

The poll results are based on a survey of 800 registered Virginia voters. The survey was done by Global Strategy Group.

The survey found that 84% of Virginia voters think Kelsey Bagot, the chair of the State Corporation Commission, should recuse herself from the merger review.

The SCC will decide whether to approve or deny the merger proposal.

Bagot is a former NextEra attorney.
