Incredible story where 80% of the 3,000 community residents sign. It’s a modern day equivalent of a wide spread signing community, such that occurred on Matha’s Vineyard in the US long ago. It also a great example of an isolated form of sign language that is very localized.

Farewell to Dr. Crume 05/19/2018

The Deaf Studies program hosted their first annual end of the year party. We also bid farewell to Dr. Crume who heads off to Atlanta to lead the interpreting program at Georgia State University. We will wish you well and we will miss you.
