When seniors and people with disabilities lose access to care, the consequences are real.
Alongside my California delegation colleagues, I am opposing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Seevices’ (CMS) decision to defer $1.1 billion in federal funding for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), which helps more than 900,000 Californians receive care in their homes. We are urging CMS to restore these critical funds and protect the Californians who depend on them

Every family deserves a safe, stable place to call home, yet too many in the Central Valley continue to struggle with the rising cost of housing.
That’s why it was great to tour Sierra Crossing, which provides 95 units of permanent affordable housing for young adults and families in Fresno overcoming homelessness, aging out of foster care, or facing housing instability.
Thank you to the Sierra Crossing team and all the partners who made this project possible and are working every day to expand access to affordable housing in Fresno.

🚨FUNDING ALERT: I secured more than $131 million in federal funding to strengthen water infrastructure across the Central Valley.
This funding will help improve water reliability, boost drought resilience, and modernize the critical systems our farms, families, and communities depend on.
Where water flows, food grows — and I’ll keep fighting to deliver the resources our Valley needs to grow and thrive.

This morning, I joined KMPH-FOX26 to discuss the letter I sent to DHS and USCIS sounding the alarm on DACA renewal delays, as well as the $131 million in federal funding we secured for Valley water infrastructure projects.
With California home to 27% of all active DACA recipients nationwide, and with critical federal investments headed to strengthen our water infrastructure, we are working hard to deliver real results for the Valley.

California is home to more than 27% of all active DACA recipients nationwide, many of whom live and work in the Central Valley.
Delays in DACA renewal processing put families, jobs, and entire communities at risk. Alongside , , and , I urged the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to immediately address significant delays in processing DACA renewal requests affecting communities across the Central Valley.

Yesterday, we honored the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms and liberties.
At Fresno Memorial Gardens, home to the largest display of freestanding American flags in the West, we came together to remember our fallen heroes, recognize those still serving in uniform, and honor our Gold, Silver, and Blue Star families.
Thank you to Fresno Memorial Gardens, VFW Post 5057, and the many veterans’ organizations whose dedication ensures the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes are never forgotten.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder that the freedoms and liberties we enjoy were secured through the sacrifice of those who gave their last full measure of devotion in service to our nation.
Today, we honored their sacrifice, reflected on their courage, and remembered the families who continue to carry that loss each and every day.
Thank you to American Legion Post 12 Commander Ernie Escalera, Selma Mayor Scott Robertson, and the Selma Chamber of Commerce for organizing this meaningful event and helping our community come together in remembrance and gratitude.
