--We have defeated two unconstitutional ordinances, and succeeded in voiding all 105 arrests.

(1) Ordinance requiring a permit to carry a sign or pass out handbills in Courthouse Park. (DEFEATED)

(2) Ordinance requiring a permit for a gathering of 10 or more people in Courthouse Park. (DEFEATED)

(3) 105 arrests (Void) - No charges or criminal records.

We have yet to get the final figures, but the County of Fresno spent well over $300,000 arresting, monitoring, & battling Occupy Fresno in Federal Court.

We have had to move about 100 feet to the city sidewalk bordering the park every night since our eviction on the morning of November 6th, 2011, We have to be out of the actual park by midnight, & we move back into Courthouse Park each morning around 6am.

...4 years ago today..

Occupy Fresno Ca.'s continuous 24/7 encampment has come to an end. The original camp lasted at Courthouse Park in Downtown Fresno for just over two years beginning on October 11th, 2011. Roughly 800 days.

The camp dissapeared in the night and i do not yet know why. There is a rumor of a flyer having been posted, but this is too short a notice for any action to have been taken... but unfortunately, the time has been long coming, especially with a cold winter at hand...

Whatever the flyer was or any possible local government influence. This was not an attack on Occupy. If anything, an attack on the houseless. Fresno is one of the least employed and poorest of the metropolitan cities in the US. And Fresno has long waged a war on the houseless, which they have recently escalated...

And this should not be seen as defeat. It's just time to finish turning to the next chapter, whether the Occupy Fresno banner continues to wave or not.
