The purpose of our Foundation is to support students and staff by helping raise funds for scholarships, educational programs, and instructional programs.
The State Center Community College Foundation is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is designated to receive gifts to any division of the District from private sources such as individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Thanks to the The Deaver Fund, led by Soccoro Deaver, they have provided $52,000 in scholarships to our Fresno City College Fire Academy Cadets. We were happy to continue to support their annual Fire Fighters in the Making fundraising dinner!

Thank you to the Leon S. Peters Foundation for supporting Fresno City College honors students with scholarships. The Foundation awarded a total of $30,000 to exceptional students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance throughout the school year.

Rico Guerrero, Executive Director of the Foundation, welcomed guests and participated in the historical walk that celebrated FCC's 115 years as the first community college in California.
Established in 1910, Fresno City College continues to have a positive impact on students and the community.
Our scholarship recipient, Denise Corona, is a first-generation college student at Madera Community College. She is majoring in Elementary Teacher Education, with plans to become an elementary school teacher. Her goal is to motivate and inspire young minds to help them grow.
Denise says “Scholarships are not just financial assistance, they are opportunities for us students. They allow students like me to continue pursuing our goals with less stress and more confidence. I am deeply grateful for the generosity of donors, and I hope you know that your kindness helps students move closer to achieving their dreams”.

Our scholarship recipient, Karinna Tate, is a student at Clovis Community College, CA graduating this spring. She is double majoring in Criminology and Psychology to become a lawyer and advocate for others in her community.
Karinna says "The scholarship has meant so much more to me than just financial assistance. It has given me peace of mind. Knowing that someone believed in me enough to invest in my education, has motivated me to push myself even harder, because I do not have to constantly worry about my finances".
