While a couple of future cadets couldn’t be there, their presence was still felt in the work and the commitment everyone brought.

ONE DRIVER KILLED IN HEAD-ON CRASH
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at approximately 9:37 a.m., CHP Madera officers responded to traffic crash involving two vehicles, on Road 400, at River Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates the following:
A 61-year-old woman from Madera, CA was driving a gray 2023 Ford Explorer, northbound on Road 400, approaching River Road. A 40-year-old man from Madera, was seated in the right front passenger seat of the Ford Explorer. A 75-year-old man from Raymond, CA was driving a white 1994 Ford F-350, southbound on Road 400, approaching River Road.
For reasons still under investigation, The Ford Explorer veered into the southbound lane, directly into the path of the Ford F-350, causing both vehicles to collide head-on. Due to the violent impact, the jaws of life were used to extricate both drivers. Despite life saving measures performed by emergency personnel, the driver of the Ford Explorer succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The 40-year-old passenger in the Ford Explorer and the driver of the Ford F-350 were transported to Community Regional Medical Center – Fresno, with minor to moderate injuries.
This crash is still under investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor. All parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
*Distractions behind the wheel can be deadly. Keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, and mind on driving. Every second of focus counts*
