Now that federal agents are investigating Ilhan Omar, a lot of eyes are turning back to her closest political allies in Minnesota. Remember when Rep. Betty McCollum called Omar her ‘twin sister in the 5th district’? It’s going to be interesting to see how that Twin Cities alliance holds up as this DOJ probe moves forward.

Tonight I visited the WBL School Board meeting. Residents spoke about:
•Trailing academic performance, loss of 59 students due to open enrollment into other districts, the recent $400M dollar building investment, and lack of transparency
•Protection of Title IX for girls sports! (Two residents)
•The legal costs of defending the current girls sports policy
•One parent appealed to the board about considering Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) input and sustaining the support for special needs.
•One resident thanked the departing school board members and asked that the board not make any further consequential decisions that will create more problems. He went on to say that he wouldn't mind paying 32% more than a neighbor four blocks away in the Forest Lake school district if the graduation rates and test scores were satisfactory.
As a congressional candidate it was very important to hear about these issues that are affecting the community and I am grateful to the residents and parents who spoke eloquently tonight and educated me! I'm grateful to the residents and parents who had the courage to speak up tonight!

Wikstrom Demands Moriarty Explain bail recommendation in Eden Prairie shooting case

Earlier today, I called on Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty to answer critical questions about the prosecution’s recommendations in the Eden Prairie High School shooting case.

Following today’s court appearance for Adam Abdihakeem Adam—charged in connection with the Oct. 2 shooting at Aerie Stadium—transparency is more urgent than ever. While the judge set bond and ordered electronic monitoring today, Moriarty’s office still needs to clarify:

What bail and release conditions prosecutors originally recommended, and when?

What steps are being taken to protect those injured and affected?

As I noted: “Judges make the bail decision, but the prosecution can tell the court what it believes is appropriate. The public deserves a clear account.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Betty McCollum and Rep. Ilhan Omar remain conspicuously silent on this shooting and other recent security threats in the Twin Cities. It’s time for them to address the broader issue of gang-related violence and explain how they will use their platforms to support prevention, enforcement, and our communities. Fox 9 Fox News
