REP PATTERSON JOINS FRISCO POLICE & FIRE ASSOCIATIONS, ENDORSES SHONA SOWELL FOR MAYOR OF FRISCO
APRIL 8, 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
I am so very proud to announce today my enthusiastic endorsement of my friend and lifelong conservative, Shona Sowell for Mayor of Frisco, Texas!
And I’m in good company, too, joining Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree and many other community leaders in support of Shona.
Shona is a fighter. After two terms on the Frisco City Council Shona paused her public service to fight a new battle: breast cancer. Now that she’s healthy again, she’s turning that energy into fighting for Frisco residents - new and old - to ensure we all have a voice at City Hall. In fact, she’s the ONLY candidate for mayor who spoke out publicly against the city’s recent limitations on resident input at council meetings.
Shona is a fiscal conservative. Shona is the ONLY candidate for mayor who was publicly against the $300 million publicly funded arts project proposed by the city last year. Her outspoken opposition to this taxpayer-funded boondoggle saved taxpayers millions on debt service alone.
Shona is committed to public safety. Her work over the years supporting Frisco Police and Fire informs her views on the most important aspect of our local government - keeping residents safe. Her experience is why both public safety associations have endorsed her - and ONLY her - to be Frisco’s next mayor.
Look, I’m not supporting Shona because she and I always agree on every issue. I’m supporting Shona because I trust her. I’ve worked with her long enough to know that when we disagree, we’ll sit down and discuss it and continue discussing it until we find common ground.
Shona’s approach to leadership is a welcomed change-of-pace. She’s trustworthy, she’s an advocate for taxpayers, she’s committed to public safety, and she’s running to represent ALL of Frisco. She wants Frisco to be better, not just bigger - and that’s refreshing.
Early voting begins April 20th and goes until April 28th.
Election Day is Saturday, May 2nd.
Please join Leslie and me - and so many others - in voting for Shona Sowell for Frisco Mayor!

With only 2 City Council meetings (hopefully) remaining, I am enjoying my last round of lunches as an elected official with influential people in Frisco. Thank you Frisco Firefighters for your continued support over the last 9 years and I appreciate your service keeping Frisco one of the safest cities in America.

At the end of Citizens Input, at last nights City Council meeting, I asked the City Manager how many formal complaints had been filed with the city about all the accusations of fraud, ethics violations , tyranny, H1B fraud, constitutional violations and other things that have been brought up over the last year.
I also asked how many leads or pieces of evidence we have been presented with regarding all the accusations of criminal behavior that supposedly all the speakers are aware of and we are apparently ignoring as the tyrants we are accused of being at every meeting. I also asked the Police Chief these same questions after the meeting to make sure I covered all the bases.
The answer? None, nada, zero, zilch!
So I feel safe in saying all these people coming to speak about how bad Frisco is and all the injustices occurring here are just trying to become relevant on social media and have nothing meaningful to offer.

Continuing to share my yard decorations related to the upcoming May 2026 Frisco Municipal Elections.
I am supporting Misty for FISD for the FISD Place #5 Board of Trustees.
I have known her for years and have full faith and confidence in her ability to represent my family (including my 1 remaining daughter in a FISD school) and the priorities we view as important.

I have been asked by several people who I am supporting for the Frisco City Council Place #5 seat in the upcoming May election.
I will be voting for Laura Rummel, Frisco City Council Place 5 when I enter the voting booth.
While I haven’t always agreed with her, I have no doubt she does what she believes is best for Frisco. I have seen her put in a lot of work with our Texas state legislatures, city staff and engaging with citizens.
As I leave office after 9 years, it is easy for me to ignore all the political rhetoric and focus on who is best for the future of Frisco.

As my time serving as your Frisco City Councilman winds down, I am focusing more on family and work instead of politics. However, my family and I love Frisco and will always do what we can to make sure it remains prosperous and the envy of other cities across America.
The next Mayor of Frisco will be elected in the upcoming May municipal elections, and it will be a major event in the history of Frisco.
As I did at her kick off party months ago, I am proud to offer my full support and endorsement to Shona Sowell for Frisco Mayor as the next Mayor of Frisco.
I had the opportunity to serve along side her for several years, learn from her, challenge and be challenged by her and see her work up close. She is a fierce defender of Frisco and the most prepared candidate to fill the seat as the Mayor of Frisco.

Our Frisco city council May election is fast approaching and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have replace me than Brittany Colberg. She is absolutely ready to step in day #1 and represent Frisco.
Let’s make this happen Frisco!!

When at least 3 and maybe 4 candidates in the upcoming May 2026 Frisco municipal elections openly advocate for violating Texas law and maybe even Federal laws, it raises a little concern for me.
Soundbites are a part of campaigning for sure, but some of this is just ignorance or blatant disregard for laws and process.
Do your homework before you vote.

In my very few interactions with Dr. Fouche, I have been impressed with his thoughts and open mindedness. He seems nothing but authentic and wanting the best for FISD. To his detractors, let’s give the man an opportunity and show support of him so he has the best chance to be successful.
The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees have named Deputy Superintendent Dr. Todd Fouche as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent of Frisco ISD.
