We are a concerned and committed group of FRISCO citizens, who live here, work here, play here, and raise our families here. We love Frisco and believe it is the greatest city in America, and we love the people of Frisco. We realize that with explosive growth like Frisco is experiencing comes unique challenges, and also in the “good economic times” in which we are currently living, there is a tend
ency of Government and the citizenry to adopt a “spend it and they will come” mentality, to an extreme. We all realize that the “good times” never last, and just like with our families, we must always prepare for a “rainy day”. With growth comes property tax increases, and it is important to keep spending priorities in check and separate “wants vs needs”. We are NOT against the arts!!! We will no doubt be accused of this, much as many of us were in 2011 when the ACC was REVOKED by nearly 53% of the voters, mainly due to 9 years of broken promises. What we ARE AGAINST is making a COMMITMENT based on there NOT being a Plan, with no IDEA how much this arts center will someday cost. NOBODY, and we mean NOBODY associated with the Pro Arts Bond effort can answer that question, yet they are asking for a FIRM COMMITMENT right now from Frisco citizens. We say go and do a feasibility study, get your ACT together, find the private partners and investment we have been promised for all these years, find the land, and come back to us with a solid plan, and if it makes economic sense, FRISCO citizens will likely rise to the challenge and support it at that time. As of today, it is a bridge (arts center) too far, and we must push for the defeat of Proposition 8 on May 9. We are in support of a YES (FOR) Vote on Propositions 1 through 7.
