It is a privilege to be invited to the State of the Union tomorrow night and the Speaker of the House reception beforehand. I would like to express my gratitude to Congressman Mark Harris and Speaker Johnson for their courtesy and for inviting me to attend this historic event.

Every time I visit DC I take time to honor the life and legacy of Nic O’Brien. May his life and death continue to serve as a reminder of the cost of freedom!

Lance Cpl. Nicholas S. O'Brien, 21, of Stanley, North Carolina died June 9, 2011 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Lcpl. O'Brien was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Nic was born May 23, 1990 in Charlotte, NC and was a graduate of East Gaston High School.

Great meeting last night with Speaker Johnson and Congressman Mark Harris. Looking forward to great things for the American people.

Just imagine if we had transparent accounting for state, county, and city governments. Citizens would be astonished by the allocation of their tax dollars. We should demand that all government branches establish an independent board with absolute authority to review expenditures and make recommendations, ensuring 100% transparency.
