Another excellent field experience event in the Finger Lakes and Geneseo region. Students enrolled in Dr Robertson’s GEOG 383 Research Methods class took part in the three day trip. Thank you alumni for your donations to the department to cover ALL travel costs!

Tomorrow is Geneseo's second annual Great Give Back, and there is a wide range of academic, athletic, and other "Teams" if you wish to donate. As always, our department uses donations to fund field trips, student awards, and department social events.

Calling all faculty, students, and alumni in the Detroit area. We will hold a SUNY Geneseo Geography & Sustainability Studies gathering on Wednesday March 26th at 6:30 pm at the Detroit Shipping Company. It is a food hall/beer garden north of the downtown area. All are welcome. If you are staying near the AAG meeting venue, it is a bit of a walk in this weather, so an Uber or taxi may be in order. Hope to see you there!

Mary Kuhn is retiring after 25 years at Geneseo and nearly 20 with the Department of Geography & Sustainability Studies! After decades of wonderful support for students and faculty, Wednesday January 29th is her final day. Mary was always there to support travel, field trips, prepare student awards, and many other tasks critical to a successful department and a thriving community. Mary will be greatly missed, but we are all happy that she and Steve can enjoy more time with their family. Mary already has travel plans for next month, and will have plenty of time for gardening! Please share any memories or thoughts on LinkedIN or here as we bid Mary farewell.
