I love this community where I grew up and where Steve & I've raised 3 amazing kids. I want to hear from you about what matters to you in Germantown! Good kids!
I've been elected by my peers to serve as Vice Mayor for five years and am honored to serve Germantown as your Alderman for the last 7. Here's a little bit about me- I am a passionate advocate for public education having served Germantown as the District 5 Board Commissioner on the Shelby County School Board during a pivotal transition period for Memphis City and Shelby County Schools students. Pr
ior to being elected as your Alderman in 2014, I served my as the Vice Chairman for the Germantown Parks & Recreation Commission, Chairman of the Farm Park Advisory Group and board member for the Germantown Arts Alliance, Friends of the Bobby Lanier Farm Park and Leadership Germantown. My husband, Steve, and I met at FedEx and were married 36 years ago at Germantown United Methodist Church. We are proud of the life we've led here- focused on our faith, our family and our friends. Our daughter, Morgan, lives in Salem, Oregon, with her husband, Dr. Shane Day. After receiving her Masters at the University of Denver's Korbel School of International Studies, Morgan works as Director of Global Programs and Partnerships for The World Food Prize helping with food security around the world. Shane is a professor at Portland State University. We are very proud of the life they're making together and as brand new parents to their first child, our first grandchild, Juniper Elinor. Junie is the light of all our lives and such a JOY! Our son, Marshall, graduated from the University of Memphis majoring in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, and On Site Customer Support Manager with Swift Transportation. Marshall married his wife, Lindsay, a NICU nurse at LeBonheur, this past October and lives right here in Memphis. Our youngest daughter, Madison, graduated early from The University of Tennessee and immediately began working at Vanderbilt University where she is the Human Resources Manager for the Owen Graduate School of Management. We are blessed, indeed. I began my career as an Affiliate Broker with GaNelle Roberts, Realtors, a family owned business that my mother, GaNelle, founded. We recently merged our firm with The FIRM | Memphis Real Estate, a start up real estate company located in Germantown with like minded real estate professionals who are focused on providing exceptional care and service to our customers. I'm an active member of the Memphis Area, Tennessee & National Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, Accredited Buyer’s Council and Multi Million Dollar Club. I served as Disaster Relief Coordinator for Germantown United Methodist Church during the floods of 2010, Confirmation Coordinator, 2nd Vice President of Germantown United Methodist Women, Welcome Ministry, Youth Advisory Council member, Leadership Germantown graduate and am the 2000 recipient of the Jim Roberts Leadership Award. I love this community and will continue to find ways to serve as your Alderman in Position 2 with integrity and transparency.

The Summer edition of Germantown Magazine is on its way to your mailbox.
This special issue celebrates America’s 250th birthday with stories that highlight the people, places and traditions that shape our community. Inside, you’ll find features on veteran-owned businesses, the Germantown Police Department Honor Guard, insights from City Historian Andy Pouncey and more.
We’re proud to share the stories that reflect the service, dedication and community spirit that make Germantown such a special place to call home.
Every day, police officers across this country face uncertainty, make difficult decisions, and work to keep their communities safe — often without recognition. National Police Week is an opportunity to pause and acknowledge that service. The Germantown Police Department is honored to be part of a profession built on integrity, sacrifice, and commitment to others.

Le Bonheur truly is the “best place for kids!”
We were honored to host a special tour for leaders from across our neighboring communities! Mayors and officials from throughout the region spent time inside our halls to see firsthand the mission and heart that drive Le Bonheur every day.
It was a wonderful opportunity to share how we care for children from every corner of their communities and to discuss our shared commitment to the health and well-being of all kids in the Mid-South.
A huge thank you to our guests, pictured with Le Bonheur President Dr. Trey Eubanks:
• Arlington Mayor Mike Wissman
• City of Bartlett Mayor David Parsons
• Lakeland Mayor Josh Roman
• Town of Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser & Deputy Town Administrator Katrina Amos-Atkins
• City of Germantown, Tennessee Government Vice Mayor Mary Anne Gibson & Alderman Tony Salvaggio
• Millington, TN - Municipal Government Alderman Chris Ford & Fire Chief Robbie Franks
Partnerships with our local leaders help us continue our mission as we work together to create a brighter, healthier future for every child.
