At the 2/6/25 Board meeting, VTA recognized outgoing board members with beautifully written personalized resolutions for each of our contributions. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity I had from 2018 through 2024 to make significant strides for transportation service improvements that reach south county. Go Gilroy! Sharing my outgoing speech and sentiments for the legacy I leave behind. Thank you, Gilroy, for this 7-year opportunity to build a more secure foundation for Gilroy's future, and to leave for the next City Council a much better starting point from which to continue building a stronger Gilroy. Congratulations to Anav Venkata Apparaju, high school junior and Founder and President of STEMShare, Inc., a youth led nonprofit organization dedicated to lowering barriers to entry in STEM by providing students with essential learning resources and supplies and actively motivating Gilroy students to pursue education in STEM. Riding in a beautifully restored 1973 Mustang, last night’s holiday parade was incredible! Thank you and to our residents and organizations who lined the streets and participated in the parade to bring that special level of “fun” and holiday spirit to share together. Love Gilroy! Welcome to the launch of new NGO Furever Home Initiatives, created by brothers Ved Prakash Badoni, a high school sophomore, and Jeet Prakash Badoni, a fifth grade student, to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs who might otherwise face euthanasia. Through their organization and their many volunteers, they hope to better educate our community on responsible and humane animal care. Yesterday’s launch (12/1/2024) was outstanding! Congratulations to all who are taking part in this endeavor, and to the parents, teachers and extended family and friends of these amazing youth leaders. 🙌🐕❤️
