In 2023-24, commissioner pay was $68,463. For 2024-25, the Board reduced commissioner pay by $22,000 to $46,463 as part of efforts to support funding for the Sheriff’s Office. Curry County’s official 2024-25 Master Payroll specifically records the salary decrease to $46,463.

Commissioner Lynn Coker joined the Board in 2025 and served at the reduced pay. The attached payroll narrative states commissioners were paid $46,463 during 2024-25 and 2025-26, and that 2026-27 commissioner pay returned to $68,463, the 2023-24 level.

The Curry County Board adopted its 2026-27 Master Payroll as part of the county budget process on June 30, 2026.

Public records matter. When questions come up, the numbers and the timeline provide important context.
