It’s that time of year when we close the Sherman Adams Building at the summit of Mount Washington for the winter season. Hikers should take note that services, restrooms, or shelter are no longer available and should plan accordingly.

The Mt. Washington Auto Road is still open to the summit daily through November 1, weather permitting! ❄️ It may already look like winter, but we're expecting clear skies all week long!

Although the NH State Park facilities are closed for the season, you can still visit our Summit Stage Gift Shop and take advantage of our Hiker Shuttle 🎁🚐

A few important seasonal updates from the Mt. Washington Auto Road!

While the State Park facilities at the summit are now closed for the season, the Auto Road remains OPEN through November 1st, weather permitting. We’re currently open to 4,200 feet until this current storm passes. Next week’s forecast is looking beautiful, and we anticipate reopening to the summit as conditions allow!

A few dates to keep in mind:
- October 25: Last day for the Summit Stage Gift Shop, Hiker Shuttle, and Guided Tours.
- October 26–November 1: The Auto Road will remain OPEN for Drive Yourself, weather permitting, but the summit shop and hiker shuttle service will be closed.

We’re looking forward to making the most of the final weeks of fall on Mt. Washington!
