Goshen, NY Democratic Committee

The Goshen, NY Democratic Committee held our Annual Fall BBQ today and the event was an overwhelming success! 🎉

We were joined by Laurie Tautel, Orange County Legislator, District 14 who spoke about the amazing achievements of this years OCNY Democratic Caucus who holds the majority in the Orange County Legislature for the first time in decades. Thank you to representatives from the James Skoufis and Pat Ryan campaigns for showing support. And of course, Goshen superstar, Jonathan Redeker, Orange County Legislator spoke about the importance of winning these local elections, especially in such a crucial year!

Bernie Rivers for Orange County Sheriff spoke about the change needed at the Orange County Sheriff's Department, and why his experience, leadership, and integrity make him the right person for the job. Sam Bergsohn for Goshen Town Supervisor spoke passionately about Goshen's need for smart development rather than overdevelopment, and why his skills and vision will ensure Town Hall represents the working families, farmers, and small businesses already here. And Robert Middlemiss for Goshen Town Justice made the case for a fresh choice for Town Judge in Goshen; someone other than the two judges already sitting on the Village bench.

Most of all, thank you to our chairwoman & leader, Catherine Lagoudakis for organizing such a great event. Overall, Goshen Democrats are united behind one goal: getting good candidates into local office across our Town and County! In this weeks Goshen Indy you can find my Letter to the Editor, an announcement for the Goshen, NY Democratic Committee's Annual Fall BBQ (this Sunday at 1PM at Craigville Park), and a print ad for the Sam for Supervisor campaign.

My Letter to the Editor is a response to the proposed commercial water district along Route 17M and how the initiative from the Supervisor raises more questions than answers. From the article: "I am offering a clearer vision for Goshen: a more diverse tax base, expanded agritourism, healthier commercial growth in and around the Village, and greater transparency and accountability from Town Hall. We cannot support more uncontrolled growth or projects pushed through without proper oversight and public input. Goshen needs a fresh path forward. Your vote matters on November 3rd."
