~ A Brief History of Our Group ~
The Master's Voice Choir, under the direction of Carolyn Jenkins, was a “dream-come-true” for the man whose vision brought together a group of singers now celebrating their fifteenth year together. As [then] Director of the Granite City Parks District, Dave Polivick dreamed of a July 4th celebration with a 100-voice Choir whose patriotic music would kick off the

-- NO CHOIR AGAIN TONIGHT --
The church parking lot is still a mess. :(
Can you believe it?? Three weeks now!!!! But it's March now, so MAYBE we're safe now... LOL
Carolyn is so frustrated by these setbacks but she says we need to keep our chins up and know that we'll be OK by concert time!
A couple of things...
Please pull "Joyful, Joyful" from your folder to turn in next week, as we just won't have the time now to devote to this challenging new song as it deserves.
Be prepared to stay for two hours next week as we try to play catch-up on our practices.
Also, listen to the practice CD as often as you can, paying special attention to the new songs.
Don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour next weekend. (Already????? LOL)
Hoping for spring-like weather from here on out!
Big "Hugggzzz"!!!

-- NOTICE --
NO CHOIR TONIGHT! The parking lot at Carolyn's church is a solid sheet of ice!!!
Stay home and enjoy your evening and we'll see you all next week! :)
Hi, All! :)
OK, they're saying 6-10 inches during the winter storm warning that extends from 3 p.m. today until 6 p.m. tomorrow. (Hey, at least we're not in the Northeast!!!) :)
Carolyn doesn't want any of us driving or trying to navigate the side streets and the church's uncleared parking lot, so she has decided to take the cautious approach and cancel practice for this week.
We are doing so well on the new music and it's still just February, so we have plenty of time to learn and polish the music. Just take some time this week to listen to the practice CD and we'll plan to meet again next Monday. :)
Love you all!

Greetings, All!
Yes, it's really true... It's choir time again! Can you believe it??
Time for our first rehearsal for the spring Gospel concerts.
Date: Monday, Feb. 2nd (This Monday)
Time: 7 p.m.
Place: Niedringhaus United Methodist Church
Bring your folder and any other music you may have lying around (OK, limit it to choir music. LOL) and we'll get started on another bunch of great songs as we fellowship together.
P.S. - Please keep Gary Ebrecht in your prayers. He is in Barnes Hospital and isn't feeling so well right now.
Love you all!! 0:-)
Hi, All! :)
Just a few things to let you know about as our concerts draw near...
1. Practice tomorrow night will be at Niedringhaus Methodist for one final week as we put the finishing touches on our wonderful music. If you still have any questions, rough spots or sections you are unsure of, this is your chance to "get it right". :)
2. Next Monday (Dec. 1), our final practice will be held at First Presbyterian Church (2100 Delmar) at 7 p.m.
3. The Christmas concerts will be held on Thursday and Friday, December 4th and 5th, at 7 p.m. and we will meet in the Fellowship Hall around 6:30 each night. (If you work and cannot arrive early, no worries.) For Friday night's concert, we always bring a tray of cookies or other treats as our "thank you" to First Pres. :)
DRESS
For our new members, concert dress consists of a long-sleeved white shirt/blouse, black pants or long black skirt, red vest, and black shoes. Ladies may wear a holiday pin on their vest and men may wear a Christmas tie. (Ritch will probably bring his 'massive' collection of ties to share with our men. )
A FEW REMINDERS
* Please wear light (or no) cologne for the concerts... some are allergic to the strong scents. (Deoderant, however, is encouraged. LOL)
* A small bottle of water or cough drops are allowed.
* Wear comfortable shoes, as there is no intermission during the Christmas concerts.
* Come expecting to give one of the best concerts our community will ever hear!!!! You all sound AWESOME!!!!!
Love 'n "Hugggzzz"!!
~ PRAYER REQUEST ~
Hello, All,
Gary Ebrecht is requesting continued prayers for his brother, Bill, whose cancer has spread extensively throughout his body and now he is facing some difficult decisions... surgery, chemotherapy, etc.
Please also lift Gary up in your prayers during this time as he needs strength to offer support and encouragement to his brother.
We love you, Gary and are praying for you and your family.
Hello, All! :)
Just a reminder that we will begin practicing for Christmas this Monday (the 29th) so you will need to bring both your red and your white (Disney) folder so we can switch out the music and prepare for the holiday music. (Yaaaaaay!!!) :)
A Note -
Well, didn't we have an incredible week of Disney concerts?? What an awesome experience!!!! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! :)
On that note, I want to offer my personal gratitude to you all for your assistance during the rehearsals and concerts... helping me up and down the stairs, on and off the stage, through the halls, curtains, and other obstacles that got in my way all week. LOL
You guys are truly wonderful and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting up with me and showing such patient kindness.
I love you all. :)

~ IMPORTANT!!! ~
Hi, All! :)
OK... There is something you are REALLY gonna want to know and it is EXCITING!!! It really has Carolyn PUMPED and you will LOVE IT, too!!!!
"What is it??", you may ask.
And I'm SO glad you asked... but it's a huge SURPRISE!!! (I know, how mean of me, right?? LOL)
Here's the deal: We need EVERYONE who CAN to arrive at the Arts Center on Thursday for a brief sound check at 5:45 SHARP. (We have only 15 minutes for this sound check before the doors are opened to the public, so come on in and take your place on stage right away, please.)
Don't forget your white Disney folders and arrive expecting something WONDERFUL!!!!
See you all then! :)
~ PRACTICE THIS MONDAY -- YES!!! ~
Good Morning, All! :)
Yes, you read it right -- we ARE breaking with tradition this time and WILL be practicing this Monday, even though it is a holiday.
Our Disney concerts are only a few short week away now and much of that time will be taken up with our usual line-up fiasco -- err... I mean PROCEDURE! (grin) -- so we need a bit of additional time to clean up some spots in the music that need a bit of extra work. :)
If you have Labor Day plans and cannot make it, we understand, but if you don't have special plans (or, if you are free by evening) please try to attend.
In the meantime, please, PLEASE listen diligently to your CD and get those tricky words into your brain! (Especially "Be Our Guest", "Under the Sea" and "Friend Like Me".)
See you Monday! And have an awesome holiday weekend! :)
