He showed up at these people's home about 4 months ago wearing a collar. So he most likely is a dumped pet. Recently he just started feeling the rut and tearing up things in their yard so they called to see if he could come to our sanctuary.
He is a sweetheart but their personality can change during rutting season. I sedated him but his adrenaline is high due to the rut so he fought the sedation. So he just stagged and would not drop. Eventually he laid down with a little help and we were able to load him up and bring him here to Magnolia Fawn Rescue.

❤️ It was such a productive day!
Not only did they move fawns from the barn to the outdoor pen, but they bottle fed the fawns, fed and watered all the fawns, non-releasable deer and farm animals. They also took down and stored half of the fawn's kennel pens in the barn for winter. So we can start cleaning the barn for our Christmas Market. Many of the students plan to come out and help that day.

We hope to see you as all at Magnolia Fawn Rescue's Christmas Market, Nov.21st, 10:00-4:00.

The caller said he was not using his back left leg but it does not feel broken. He also has alot of swelling around his rump. I was concerned he may have internal injuries and feared he may not make it through the night but he did! I hope this is a good sign.

I am going to have to restock up on sq fluids and antiobotics. I am very low and this big boy is probably going to use up what I have.
