YBGR : Caring people, preparing youth for life. Nonprofit mental health center caring for kids since 1957.

On October 6, 2024, Youth Dynamics officially joined Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch (YBGR)—now delivering expanded care to kids and families under the YBGR name. Below you’ll find more about our mission, values, and the full continuum of care we provide:

Our Mission

“Caring people, preparing youth for life.”

Our Values

As we carry out our mission, we lead with our values FIRSt:

Faith

Faith means being sure of successfully achieving our mission based on our trust in a loving creator. Integrity

Integrity means doing what is right, putting the needs of others above our own, and living by the highest values. Relationship

Relationship means being committed to one another in a mutually respectful, dignified, healthy, and honoring manner. Stewardship

Stewardship means using any resource or talent entrusted to us to fulfill our mission. Our Continuum of Care

We provide a full continuum of mental health care for youth and their families, grounded in our mission and values. From community-based and in-school services to therapeutic group homes and PRTF residential care, we deliver seamless support tailored to each child’s unique needs, addressing a wide range of mental health conditions using evidence-based treatment models. Community-Based Services

Community-based services bring care to youth where they need it most—at home, in school, and in their community. From mentoring and case management to home support, outpatient therapy, family reunification programs, CSCT, and more, we ensure every child receives the right care at the right time in the least restrictive environment. Therapeutic Group Homes

When youth need more structured treatment than can be provided in the community or are stepping down from PRTF care, our Therapeutic Group Homes in Billings, Great Falls, Helena, and Boulder provide a supportive, family-like setting. PRTF Residential Care

For youth requiring more intensive therapeutic support, our historic PRTF campus in Billings delivers treatment in a structured, safe environment led by a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and educators. Families are essential partners, actively engaging in treatment and discharge planning.

Our founder Franklin Robbie said, "It really makes a difference when you know someone cares."

His words live on through caring people like Cheryl and Del Wade, whose time and kindness make a meaningful difference in our kids' lives.

For years, Cheryl and Del have consistently donated gently used suitcases to kids in our care.

To a young person leaving treatment, having a suitcase to carry their belongings means so much more than convenience.

It brings dignity, a sense of belonging, and the reminder that someone cares.

Thank you, Cheryl and Del, for helping our kids feel seen, valued, and cared for! 💛

Sunshine, laughter, and a little adventure made for a wonderful afternoon at the pumpkin patch.

Our team took kids from the therapeutic group home to tackle the Speleo Cave, bounce on a teeter totter, work together to find their way through the corn maze, and then hop aboard the tractor train for a farm tour.

Along the way, our helpful kids stopped to assist younger children race oversized tricycles. What a meaningful way to practice their social skills in the community.

Beyond the fun, there was teamwork, kindness, encouragement, and plenty of giggles.

Thank you to our caring team for giving kids opportunities to simply be kids, make memories, and enjoy the little things in life! ❤️

A meaningful connection to Native American culture is taking shape!

Using natural trees from around the Ranch, there are the beginnings of a traditional sweat lodge that will offer Native American kids a sacred space to nurture their mind, body, and spirit.

Rooted in generations of tradition, sweat lodge ceremonies provide opportunities for prayer, reflection, healing, and spiritual connection.

More than a structure, this sweat lodge will be a place where youth can honor their ancestors, embrace their heritage, and strengthen their sense of identity and belonging.

We look forward to sharing the progress of this meaningful project!

Thank you to KTVH’s Madelyn Heath for highlighting our new therapeutic group home in Boulder!

More than just a building, this home provides a welcoming environment where kids can feel safe, supported, and cared for while receiving the mental health services they need.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share what this investment means for the kids we serve.

YBGR says it serves more than 3,000 kids across Montana every year in many ways; one of those is through the group homes.

Today was a big day in Boulder! 🏡

We celebrated a new beginning for our New Beginnings Group Home with a community housewarming and ribbon-cutting.

Our many public and private partners made this new space possible. We're grateful for The Wall Family-Power Townsend Foundation, Valley Bank - Division of Glacier Bank, Golden Eagle Construction, A&E + SMA Design, and the many other supporters who helped bring this project to life.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today to celebrate this investment in Montana kids.

Exciting things are ahead for our new Gallatin Campus!

Thank you to NonStop Local for highlighting this important step toward expanding access to behavioral health services and helping more Montana kids receive the care they need closer to home.
