💙 November is Diabetes Awareness Month! 💙

Did you know that diabetes affects how your body uses sugar for energy? Millions of Americans live with diabetes, but not all diabetes is the same!

🩸 There are three main types of diabetes:

🔹 Type 1 Diabetes: The body makes little or no insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps move sugar from the blood into the body's cells for energy. People with Type 1 diabetes need insulin every day to stay alive.

🔹 Type 2 Diabetes: The body has trouble using insulin the right way. Over time, it may also stop making enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes is the most common type, making up about 90–95% of diagnosed diabetes cases.

🔹 Gestational Diabetes: This type of diabetes develops during pregnancy in someone who did not already have diabetes. It happens when the body cannot make enough insulin to meet the extra needs of pregnancy. Gestational diabetes often goes away after birth, but it increases the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes later in life.

Why does awareness matter? Learning about diabetes helps us understand the different types, recognize warning signs, and support those living with the condition.

This November, help spread awareness, learn the facts, and support those affected by diabetes! 💙 Learn more: https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/

Depression is a common but serious mood disorder that can affect how a person feels, thinks, and handles everyday activities, such as sleeping, eating, working, and spending time with loved ones.

🧠 Common signs of depression may include:

Feeling sad, empty, or hopeless

Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed

Feeling tired or having little energy

Changes in sleep or appetite

Trouble concentrating or making decisions

Feeling worthless or guilty

Withdrawing from friends and family

The good news? Depression is treatable! Treatment options, including therapy, medication, or a combination of both, can help people manage symptoms and improve their quality of life. If you or someone you love is experiencing symptoms of depression, remember that you don't have to face it alone. Talking to a healthcare provider or mental health professional is an important first step toward getting support.

📱 Need immediate emotional support? Call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24/7.
