🎓🚔 HISTORY MADE IN GREENWOOD AND LEFLORE COUNTY! 🚔🎓

What an AMAZING journey it has been! The FIRST Citizens Police Academy in Greenwood and Leflore County has officially come to a close, and what a success it has been! 🎉👏

First and foremost, I want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to our graduating citizens who committed themselves to this 9-week course. Your willingness to learn, ask questions, participate, and gain a better understanding of law enforcement made this experience truly special. CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATES! 🏆🎓

I would also like to give a special THANK YOU to the individuals who helped make this vision a reality:

👏 Investigator Davis
👏 Sheriff James Payne Sr.
👏 Chief of Police Simon

Thank you for your leadership, support, dedication, and commitment to making this program possible!

Throughout these nine weeks, our citizens gained valuable insight into the day-to-day duties, responsibilities, and challenges that law enforcement officers face. From learning about patrol operations and investigations to understanding officer safety, use of force, and traffic stops, our participants had the opportunity to see law enforcement from a different perspective. They also gained valuable knowledge about the court system, jury service, and the trial process. ⚖️🚔

BUT THIS IS BIGGER THAN JUST A CLASS! 💯

This program was about building relationships, opening doors for communication, increasing understanding, and creating opportunities for law enforcement and the community to work together. It was about showing our citizens that when we come together, we can build stronger relationships and make a positive difference in our community.

As we celebrate the success of our first class, we look forward to the possibility of offering MORE classes in the future! Our goal is to continue BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE PUBLIC, RESTORING TRUST, AND BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS.

To our graduates, thank you for taking this journey with us. You are now part of something special, and we hope you will continue to share what you have learned with others throughout our community!

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! 🚔🤝

Building Trust. Strengthening Communities. Serving Together. 💙🖤

The Leflore County Sheriff’s Department extends our deepest condolences to the family of Sam Abraham, District 1 Supervisor of Leflore County.

A great leader is hard to find, but impossible to forget. Sam was a pillar of the community who faithfully served our county and its people. He was a true visionary, guiding Leflore County into the future with his extensive knowledge and experience. We not only lost a leader, we lost a mentor and friend. May his legacy of service live on for generations to come. Rest in peace, Sam.

🚨🔎 WEEK 9 IS IN THE BAG! 🔎🚨

What a BITTERSWEET MOMENT for our Leflore County Citizens Police Academy! 🎉👏 This week marked our final class together before we celebrate graduation next week! 🎓💙 While we are excited about graduation, it’s hard to believe our time together as a class is almost over!

This week, our citizens took things to another level! 💪🏽🚔 The class was divided into TWO TEAMS, and each team had the opportunity to investigate a different crime scene! 🕵🏽‍♂️🔍 Led by Investigator Davis, our citizens were placed in realistic investigative scenarios that law enforcement officers and investigators face in the field every day.

From examining crime scenes to working together, thinking critically, and putting the pieces of the puzzle together, our citizens got a firsthand look at what it takes to investigate a case! 🧩📋 But this week was about more than solving a crime — it was about TEAMWORK, COMMUNICATION, LEADERSHIP, AND BUILDING TRUST! 🤝🔥

One of the best parts was watching these citizens come together as a team, build relationships, share ideas, and work toward a common goal. What started as a group of individuals has grown into a team with a greater understanding of law enforcement and the important role our community plays in public safety! 💙🚔

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey and helped make the Leflore County Citizens Police Academy a success! And a special shout-out to our citizens for showing up, participating, asking questions, and making every week worthwhile! 👏🏽💯

🎓 NEXT WEEK: GRADUATION! 🎓

We are proud of how far this class has come, and we cannot wait to celebrate their accomplishments! This may be the end of our weekly classes, but we hope it’s only the beginning of stronger relationships, lasting friendships, and continued partnerships between law enforcement and our community!

Building Trust. Strengthening Communities. Serving Together. 💙💛
