The Friends of the Guthrie Public Library have raised over $350,000 since 1986. Please consider purchasing a membership.

The Friends of the Guthrie Public Library have raised over $250,000 since 1986, enabling our library to move from good to great -- providing the resources for additional programming, much needed equipment, support for children’s summer reading, and special events and projects throughout the year. The work of the Friends highlights on an on-going basis the fact that our library is the cornerstone of the community providing opportunities for all to engage in the joy of life-long learning and connect with the thoughts and ideas of others from ages past to the present. The Friends understand the critical importance of well funded libraries and advocate to ensure that our library gets the resources it needs to provide a wide variety of services to all ages including access to print and electronic materials, along with expert assistance in research, readers’ advisory, and children’s services;

The Friends’ gift of their time and commitment to the library sets an example for all in how volunteerism leads to positive civic engagement and the betterment of our community. Proceeds from the Friends’ Annual Book Sale and membership dues help support the library. Memberships Available:

Individual - $5 per year

Family - $10 per year

Junior (through grade 12) - $1 per year

Business and Professional - $25 per year

Individual Lifetime Membership - $200

Did you know it only costs $2.50 to clear the shipping and handling costs for one child to get a brand new book mailed straight to their home? For $31, you can sponsor a child for one whole year of reading. We are challenging our readers to make a donation and help us sponsor kids in our community. Every single dollar stays right here in our community. Let's make Give Like Dolly Day count for the whole county!

Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25!

Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit through Give Like Dolly Day.

On September 25, we’re inviting communities all over the world to join us in giving back to children by supporting your local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. Your support helps make it possible for the children in your community to receive a free, high-quality book every month from birth to age 5.
