ConVal Public Hearings: School Funding Cap Question on November Ballot

The ConVal School Board will hold a series of public hearings in October on the school district tax-cap question that will appear on the November 2026 State General Election ballot.

RSA 32:5-i, enacted through HB 1300, asks voters to consider two limits: a cap on annual growth in the district’s local property-tax levy and a 6% cap on defined SAU central-office administrative spending. The hearings are an opportunity for community members to learn more, ask questions, and provide public comment before the November vote.

Public Hearings, all at 7:00 p.m.:

Wednesday, October 7 — Hancock Elementary School
Thursday, October 8 — Greenfield Elementary School
Wednesday, October 14 — Antrim Elementary School
Thursday, October 15 — Temple Elementary School
Wednesday, October 21 — Dublin Elementary School
Monday, October 26 — SAU 1 Office (Peterborough)

What has Gov. Kelly Ayotte cost New Hampshire families?

🏠 Property taxes: Local property taxes in NH have risen by more than $1 billion over the past ten years, according to the NH Fiscal Policy Institute. Meanwhile, Ayotte keeps putting millions of taxpayer dollars into an over-budget private school voucher program.

🏥 Health care: Ayotte imposed new Medicaid premiums on working families and raised their prescription drug copays.

🏡 Housing: Home prices have hit another record high, now up to $580,000, while millions in affordable housing funding were cut.

⚡ Electricity: Rates rose nearly 15% in one year (U.S. Energy Information Administration), and Ayotte did nothing to push back on utility rate hikes at the Public Utilities Commission.

Families are working harder and falling further behind. Granite Staters can't afford two more years of this.
