October is AAC Awareness Month! Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including picture boards and speech-generating devices, helps people share their thoughts, needs, and ideas.

At MWE, inclusion means every student has opportunities to participate, build friendships, and be heard. Our students make room for everyone, our staff make learning accessible, and our families help every child thrive. That’s another part of what makes MWE amazing!

Each month, Superintendent John Hamstra and Treasurer Thomas Lowe will hold informal "coffee chat" sessions, designed as a way for parents/guardians and community members to get factual information and ask questions in a relaxed setting.

The next “Coffee and Conversation” will take place on Friday, September 25 from 9:00-11:00 AM at The Coffee Peddlar, 112 Harrison Ave. in Downtown Harrison.

There is no need to sign up, just show up. All are welcome!

WE ARE 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Congratulations to our incredible students, staff, families, and entire MWE community! Miami Whitewater Elementary has officially earned an overall 5-star rating on the 2025–2026 Ohio School Report Card—significantly exceeding state standards!

The state may see numbers and stars, but we see the people and stories behind them. We see students who worked hard, took risks, and never stopped growing. We see staff members who poured their hearts into supporting every child. We see families and community members who partnered with us, encouraged us, and trusted us with their children each day.

This accomplishment belongs to all of us. Together, we built our greatness—and we could not be prouder to be Wildcats! 💚

What a great turnout for our final Popsicles with the Principals! ​

A huge thank you to all of our Miami Whitewater families who came out to spend the afternoon with us. It was so much fun reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting many of our newest Wildcats, and seeing our playground filled with smiles and laughter!

We're even more excited for what's ahead. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for Open House and officially kick off an amazing school year as Wildcats next week! 💚

🐾 Marvelous Monday: Meet Our Newest Wildcat!

Today we're excited to introduce one of the newest members of our Miami Whitewater Elementary family!

At MWE, we know that students thrive when they feel safe, supported, and connected. We're grateful to continue strengthening that commitment through our partnership with Cincinnati Children's Hospital, helping us provide additional mental wellness resources and support for our students, staff, and families. Be sure to stop by and meet Ms. Harris at Open House! She'll be happy to introduce herself, answer any questions, and share more information about available mental wellness supports and the referral process.
