It's WSS Collection Period 1 Finalization Week! Please complete and finalize each child's WSS checklist by Friday, October 23, 2026.

Before finalizing, take time to:

Confirm classroom rollover and student information are accurate.
Review child portfolios, observations, and documentation.
Use WSS standards, performance indicator rationales, and examples to guide accurate, evidence-based ratings, including appropriate ELL considerations.
Review each child's checklist and flag as final.
*After finalizing, put your data to work! Use Outcomes and Class Profile reports to guide instruction and prepare for parent-teacher conferences highlighting children's strengths, areas for growth, and goals.

Arkansas early childhood providers - two curriculum opportunities to keep on your radar!

• October 30, 2026: Deadline to submit curriculum materials for HQIM review.
• November 6, 2026: Deadline to apply for the free curriculum pilot launching Fall 2027. Selected classrooms will receive curriculum materials, professional learning and coaching at no cost.

Planning ahead: Programs may continue using their current curriculum during 2026–27 and 2027–28 while exploring approved options. Beginning in 2028–29, all publicly funded early childhood classrooms must fully implement one comprehensive curriculum from the Approved Curriculum List.
