As of 4 PM today, all power had been restored following Hurricane Isaias! 🙌🏼

🤝 We want to extend a very special THANK YOU to our sister electric cooperatives and support services who answered the call for help during this massive restoration effort.

With extensive damage across our system, restoring power in such a short amount of time would not have been possible without their hard work, dedication, and willingness to leave their own communities to help ours.

💪🏼 This is what Cooperation Among Cooperatives is all about! When one cooperative is in need, others step up without hesitation.

As of 4 PM today, ALL power has been restored following Hurricane Isaias!

After a massive, multi-day restoration effort, we are incredibly grateful to have reached this milestone!

⚡️💚 A Visit from Our Wiregrass Legislative Delegation!

Today, our local legislators stopped by WEC to check on our Hurricane Isaias restoration progress and offer their encouragement and support.

During their visit, we shared our restoration process and provided an update on how restoration efforts are progressing across our system. They toured our mutual aid staging area at our Hartford headquarters, where crews from multiple states are being supported as they assist with restoration efforts. They also visited our Energy Control Center to get a firsthand look at the coordination, challenges, and work involved in restoring power across our system.

We were grateful for the opportunity to explain how our teams are working together, coordinating resources, and prioritizing restoration efforts to safely and efficiently restore power to our members.

🤝 We are fortunate to have such a dedicated legislative delegation here in the Wiregrass! Their continued involvement, genuine interest, and willingness to stay engaged and informed mean so much to us.

💪 We also recognized the incredible job being done by our employees, including our linemen and everyone working behind the scenes to support restoration efforts. Their long hours, dedication, and commitment to serving our members are truly appreciated.

⚡️💪🏼 INCREDIBLE RESTORATION PROGRESS, WIREGRASS!

At the height of Hurricane Isaias, approximately 18,500 meters were without power across our system.

As of 6 PM this evening, that number has dropped to just 500! That’s more than 97% of outages restored! 🙌🏼💚

We are incredibly grateful for the tireless efforts of our WEC employees, contractors, and mutual aid crews who have worked around the clock to make this progress possible.

💚 To our members who are still without power, please know you have NOT been forgotten! Our crews are continuing to work incredibly hard to restore your power as quickly and safely as possible.

🙏🏼 Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and prayers throughout this massive restoration effort.

Please be advised that all WEC offices will remain closed to the public tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, as we continue dedicating our resources to Hurricane Isaias power restoration efforts.

⚡️ While our doors may be closed, ALL WEC employees will be working for YOU! Our entire team remains hard at work, both in the field and behind the scenes, supporting this massive restoration effort and working to get the lights back on as quickly and safely as possible.
