Hawthorne Police Located in Los Angeles County. Site is for Police related news from the Hawthorne Police Department. A thoroughly modern department but with a small town feel.

Founded in 1922, the Hawthorne Police Department continues to lead the way in modern policing. With programs ranging from the nationally acclaimed “Coffee with a Cop,” to currently being one of only two Police Departments in California to have a Service Dog 24/7 ("Scottie") the department has repeatedly set the bar with its innovative approaches to community policing. With nearly 100 officers and 50 support staff serving an ever growing community of over 85,000 (home of the Beach Boys, Northrop Corporation, and more recently SpaceX), the department maintains its technical edge by being the only department in the South Bay with its own Helicopter, Electric Motorcycles, Tactical Medicine Program, Armored Rescue Vehicle, and state of the art Police Facility.
