To everyone who has been part of this campaign, thank you.

Every like, comment, phone call, text, voicemail, and personal visit has meant so much to me. To everyone who donated, spent time knocking on doors, or spoke about my character and commitment to this community, thank you. I will always remember the time, resources, and support you gave. My gratitude knows no bounds.

These past 10 months have given me the opportunity to serve, listen, and connect with the people of Wasatch County. I am truly humbled by the kindness and encouragement you have shown me every step of the way.

I love Wasatch County and the people who make this community home. Serving you has been an honor, and I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve as your sheriff.

Today, November 3, is Election Day. If you haven’t voted yet, please take the opportunity to cast your vote. You can vote in person at the Wasatch County Administration Building at 25 North Main Street in Heber City. If you’re eligible to vote but haven’t registered, you can register in person today with two forms of valid identification. If you have questions, the Wasatch County Clerk’s Office can help.

Voting is a right, and your voice matters.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to earn your trust.

God bless you all, and God bless Wasatch County and the freedom we enjoy each and every day.

I have received questions regarding my leadership experience, compensation, management of taxpayer funds, and accountability within the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office.

I believe these questions deserve thorough and straightforward answers. Because I wanted to address each question completely, I could not reasonably fit all of my responses into a Facebook Post or comments.

I have put together the linked document to explain my responsibilities, my record of public service, the projects I have helped accomplish, and my plans for leadership and accountability moving forward.

I welcome your questions and am willing to meet with anyone who would like to review supporting documentation, budgets, or available public records. This is a summary and my personal experiences. If you want more detail, please reach out.

I have never claimed to be perfect, and I have never claimed these accomplishments were mine alone. I have had the privilege of working alongside many outstanding professionals and community partners.

Thank you for taking the time to ask questions and review my responses.

Citizens of Wasatch County,

I want to be very clear: I took a stand against the leadership of the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, and I took action.

In April 2025, I brought my concerns to Judge McKelvie and filed complaints regarding issues affecting my ability to lead my division and fulfill my responsibilities. I spoke up and put my concerns on the record.

On January 8, 2026, I chose to run against the incumbent Sheriff. I challenged my boss because I believed Wasatch County deserved change. In the Republican primary, the voters chose me. I am grateful for your trust, and I understand the responsibility that comes with it.

Regarding the current investigation, I am a witness and am subject to a gag order. I cannot discuss matters covered by that order, and I will not violate it. My inability to comment does not mean I have something to hide. I ask that you respect the process.

The indictment names Jared Rigby. It does not name the other men and women serving in our Sheriff’s Office. I will not speculate about the investigation or its outcome.

What I can speak to is my commitment to you. As Sheriff, I will address misconduct, hold people accountable, and expect the same integrity from myself that I expect from everyone serving alongside me. When concerns are brought forward, I will listen and act.

Integrity, accountability, and transparency have been the foundation of my campaign since day one. They will guide my leadership. Public trust must be earned through our actions, and accountability will start with me.

I love Wasatch County, and I will give my all to provide the professional, dependable law enforcement you deserve. I will be present. I will listen. I will build strong relationships with our citizens, our deputies, our employees, and our public safety partners.

You deserve leadership that stands up, takes responsibility, and follows through. That is my commitment to you.

God bless you all!

Jeremy Hales

For a period of time in the past 25 years, I have had the honor and pleasure of serving on the Wasatch Community Foundation Education Committee as a board member and chair. What a privilege it has been to work alongside amazing professionals who care deeply about our students and the future of Wasatch County. Their leadership and willingness to serve have inspired me.

I also had the privilege of working with the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office Scholarship Committee. My colleagues contributed their own money to help graduating seniors at Wasatch High School continue their education. The Dick and Timmy Burton Foundation generously matched those contributions, making that support go even further.

These were people giving their time and money because they cared about our community and wanted to help our young people succeed.

This is why I love serving Wasatch County. Throughout my career, I have been blessed to serve alongside incredible colleagues and citizens who show up, give what they can, and make a difference. I have seen firsthand what we can accomplish when we work together.

Service is what I was taught, and service is what I will do as your next Wasatch County Sheriff.

I will be present. I will listen to you. I will take responsibility for my decisions and expect the same from those I lead. Your trust matters, and I will work every day to earn it.

Integrity, accountability, and transparency are the driving forces of my campaign. They will guide how I lead and how we serve you.

Wasatch County is my home. You are my neighbors. It would be an honor to serve you as your next Sheriff.
