American Indian Heritage Day is an opportunity to honor the history, cultures, languages, traditions, and contributions of American Indians and Montana’s Tribal Nations. Montana has a unique constitutional commitment to Indian Education for All, ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn about the people and cultures that have shaped our state.

I am grateful to the tribal leaders, elders, educators, and communities who share their knowledge and traditions with the next generation. This is a commitment we must carry forward throughout the year.

Freedom Week is an opportunity for Montana students to explore the founding principles of our nation through the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and other foundational documents.
By learning about liberty, individual rights, self-government, and civic responsibility, we can help prepare the next generation to be informed and engaged citizens.
I’m proud to celebrate Freedom Week with Montana students and educators!

It was an incredible honor to speak at Constitution Day in the Montana State Capitol Rotunda.
Our Constitution is the foundation of our great nation and a reminder of the freedoms, rights, and responsibilities we share as Americans. We must continue to teach, honor, and defend the principles that have made America exceptional.
Thank you to all of the organizations and groups who helped make this special event possible, and to everyone who came together to celebrate our Constitution and the enduring promise of liberty.
